Knowley lies in Lancashire between Preston and Manchester, easily reached via Junction 8 of the M61. The A674 provides the main local connection, whilst longer journeys use the M6 or M58 from Liverpool. Over 200 EV charging points serve the area around Chorley. The village preserves several former Victorian public bath houses, including Turkish baths that once served the local mill communities.
