Kinmundy, IL

Kinmundy is a small farming town of about 800 people in south-central Illinois, roughly 80 miles east of St. Louis. Most visitors reach it via Interstate 64 to Illinois Route 37, which runs right through town. The area sits in typical prairie farmland with a continental climate. The town still operates one of Illinois' last manually controlled railroad crossing gates, where an attendant manages the barrier for trains on the Canadian National line.
