Kilmessan is a handy County Meath village 45 kilometers northwest of Dublin, perfectly placed for exploring the Boyne Valley. You'll reach it via the M3 (Exit 6 for Dunshaughlin) or the R154 from Navan in about 15 minutes. It's grand for day trips to Brú na Bóinne, Tayto Park, or the golf courses at Killeen Castle, with plenty of fast charging stations for electric cars. The 12th-century parish church houses a remarkable medieval font carved from limestone with Celtic knotwork that's weathered eight centuries perfectly.
