Kildonan, Eilean Siar

Kildonan lies on South Uist's eastern coast, reached via the A865 from Lochboisdale ferry terminal 10km south. The CalMac service from Oban connects to the wider Hebridean network, whilst local routes serve Daliburgh and Howmore. About three EV charging points cover this stretch of the island. The village overlooks the Sound of Eriskay amidst typical Uist terrain of machair, lochs and peat bog, with a 4,000-year-old Neolithic burial chamber whose massive capstone remains perfectly balanced.
