Kilcullen

Ireland

Ireland

Kilcullen is a handy market town in County Kildare, sitting where the N78 meets the R448 about 50 kilometres southwest of Dublin. You can reach it easily from the M9 at Junction 3, with good connections to Dublin via the N7 or south toward Waterford. The drive from Dublin takes about an hour, while Cork is roughly two hours south. The town sits in prime horse country, surrounded by the fertile plains that make Kildare famous for breeding. The real gem here is the 14th-century stone bridge over the Liffey, one of Ireland's oldest still in use, with its pointed arches that have been carrying traffic for over 600 years.
