Kentmere

Kentmere occupies a remote Lake District valley, reached only by a single-track road through Staveley. The narrow route from the A591 winds through dramatic fell country, requiring careful navigation with few passing places. Electric vehicle drivers should charge beforehand, as no facilities exist in the valley itself. The village maintains its working character, with traditional Herdwick sheep farming continuing on impossibly steep fellsides enclosed by ancient dry stone walls.
