Kechi is a small Kansas city of about 2,900 people, located 15 miles northeast of Wichita via K-254 and I-35. Most visitors arrive on I-35 from Kansas City or Oklahoma City, while locals commute daily on K-254. The city sits on typical Great Plains prairie with hot summers and mild winters. Its distinctive water tower features a Native American chief's head, honoring the Kichais tribe.
