Kearton lies deep in Swaledale along the B6270, reached via Reeth from Richmond or over the fells from Wensleydale. This tiny Yorkshire Dales settlement sits amongst stone walls and hay meadows, with harsh winters often blocking the higher passes. The village maintains one of the dale's last traditional hay meadows, still hand-cut each summer using centuries-old methods.
