Jarrow

Jarrow lies on the Tyne's south bank, eight miles east of Newcastle via the A185 and A19. The A194(M) provides quick access from the south, whilst the A19 connects Sunderland and points north. Local routes include the Tyne Tunnel crossing and Metro links throughout the conurbation. The town houses the ruins of St. Paul's Monastery, where Bede penned his seminal history of England in the 8th century.
