Iron Junction is a tiny St. Louis County community of 86 people sitting where Highway 169 and State Highway 1 meet in Minnesota's Iron Range. It's about 15 miles north of Virginia and 75 miles from Duluth via US 53. The town sits along the Mesabi Trail, a 135-mile paved recreation path that follows the old iron ore railroad route through dozens of mining communities.
