Irishtown (Mayo)

Irishtown in County Mayo sits along the N5 between Castlebar and Westport, making it a handy stop for travelers heading west. Though only 13 hectares, it serves the surrounding rural area well. The town lies at the foot of Croagh Patrick, where thousands climb barefoot each Reek Sunday in July for the famous pilgrimage. You can reach it easily from Castlebar in 15 minutes or take the scenic N59 route from Cong along Lough Mask. There are about 19 fast charging stations in the area for electric cars.
