Ynysddu

Wales

Ynysddu is a former mining village in the Sirhowy Valley, about 25km north of Cardiff via the A470 and A4048. Most visitors arrive from Cardiff or Newport, while locals use valley roads to reach Blackwood and Caerphilly. The village retains its Victorian primary school building with an original bell tower that still chimes throughout the day.
