Witbank

Witbank, these days officially Emalahleni, lies on the N4 between Pretoria and Mozambique, with the N12 branching off south. Locals nip between Witbank and neighbouring Phola or Thubelihle for work at the mines and power stations, while longer trips to Kempton Park, Mamelodi or all the way to Ellisras and Drummond are for visitors passing through. There's about one fast EV charger nearby if you need a top-up. Fun fact: the town got its name from the white cliffs along the Olifants River, which now feeds Witbank Dam, a favourite for fishing and boating.
