Wheeler, OR

Wheeler is a tiny fishing village on Oregon's central coast along Highway 101, about 90 minutes from Portland via Highway 26. The town sits between Nehalem Bay and the Coast Range where the Nehalem River meets the Pacific. Most visitors come for crabbing and beach access, but Wheeler's main attraction is the abandoned Salmonberry River Railroad tunnel that hikers can still explore today.
