Wheddon Cross is a small Exmoor village where the A396 meets the B3224, sitting at about 1,200 feet above sea level. The A396 connects north to Minehead or south toward the M5, whilst the B3224 offers a scenic route west across the moor to Lynton. The village is home to the Rest and Be Thankful Inn, named for the relief travellers felt after climbing up from the valleys.
