Most visitors arrive on US 40 from Goodland (25 miles east) or continue west toward Denver. US 27 connects north to I-70 and south to Oklahoma. The town sits on the High Plains with rolling wheat country and semi-arid climate. Sharon Springs maintains one of Kansas's original Carnegie libraries from 1918, still operating with its classic red brick and columned design.
