Seymour

Seymour is a small Eastern Cape town tucked into the Katberg and Amathole mountains, reached easily via the R67 from Fort Beaufort. It's a handy base for day trips to Hogsback and Katberg, both known for forest trails and cool mountain air, while longer hauls to spots like Despatch or even Virginia in the Free State show up in travel logs too. Keep an eye out for the old Katberg Pass, still used by farmers herding cattle down from the highlands.
