Roachburn

Roachburn lies in northern Cumbria near the Scottish border, surrounded by rolling Pennine countryside. The A69 provides the main connection west to Carlisle and east towards Newcastle, whilst the B6318 follows Hadrian's Wall through local communities like Tindale and Coalfell. Most traffic consists of short local journeys serving the scattered farming villages, though the M74 motorway 30 kilometres north offers quick access to Scotland. The area boasts around 17 public fast chargers for electric vehicles. The town's claim to fame is its proximity to the exceptionally well-preserved Roman bath house ruins at Castlesteads fort, part of Hadrian's Wall mile 56.
