Rio is a small Wisconsin farming community of 1,100 people located on Highway 51 between Madison and the Dells. Most visitors arrive via Highway 51, which connects south to Madison (35 miles) and north to Portage. The area features typical south-central Wisconsin farmland with rolling hills and the Wisconsin River nearby. Rio's historic grain elevator towers over the downtown area, serving as a distinctive landmark visible for miles along the highway.
