Reedsport sits where the Umpqua River meets the Pacific, serving as gateway to the massive Oregon Dunes. Highway 101 runs right through town, while Highway 38 connects inland from I-5 via a scenic 90-minute drive through the Umpqua Valley. The town's claim to fame is the nearby sand dunes that stretch for miles and tower 500 feet high, popular for off-road adventures. The Umpqua Discovery Center houses a working replica lighthouse lens that still guides boats into the harbor.
