Priestcliffe

Priestcliffe perches on the limestone plateau in the Peak District, reached via the A6 from Buxton then the B6049 through Miller's Dale. Most visitors are day-trippers from Manchester or Sheffield exploring the scenic route to Bakewell, though it's also a stopping point for walkers tackling the Pennine Way. The village sits at 300 metres, so expect cooler weather and lingering morning mists. St. Mary's Church houses remarkable Norman carvings, including a detailed scene of medieval farming with oxen.
