Polbain

Polbain perches on Scotland's remote northwest coast, a tiny crofting settlement overlooking the Summer Isles. Reaching it means commitment - take the A835 north from Inverness, then brave 25km of single-track roads from Drumrunie. Most visitors come via Ullapool, 40km southeast, making this a proper Highland expedition rather than a local jaunt. The small harbor still shelters traditional fishing boats against its weathered stone pier.
