The A93 provides the main route from Aberdeen and continues west toward Royal Deeside, whilst the B9077 offers an alternative through Milltimber. The village's most distinctive feature remains its 45-metre red brick mill chimney, a remnant of the paper mill that operated here from 1751 to 1982.
