Old Woods

Old Woods lies in rural Shropshire, about 10km northwest of Shrewsbury via the A5124. The village sits amongst gentle hills where ancient forests once stood, hence the name. Several 18th-century cottages built from local red sandstone still line the main street, their warm-coloured walls distinctive against the green countryside.
