Oconee sits in central Georgia's farm country, about an hour southeast of Macon via US Highway 441. This small Washington County town of just over 300 residents connects to the region through US 441 and State Route 57. The area features rolling hills, pine forests, and agricultural land typical of Georgia's Coastal Plain. Oconee's claim to fame is a giant concrete elephant that has watched over the community since the 1960s.
