Oakland, OR

Oakland is a small timber town of about 1,000 people along Highway 138 in southwestern Oregon's Douglas County. Most visitors pass through on their way from I-5 to the coast, taking Exit 148 and following the highway west toward Reedsport. The town sits in the scenic Umpqua River valley surrounded by Douglas fir forests. Its restored 1890s downtown features wooden sidewalks and period storefronts that make it a National Historic District.
