Nquthu is tucked into the hills of northern KZN, between the Buffalo and Mzinyathi rivers, reached mainly via the R68 linking Dundee and Vryheid. Locals nip through to Mondlo, Babanango or Vryheid for shopping and errands, while out-of-towners often make the trek from Durban or further for one big reason: Isandlwana, just down the road, where Zulu forces famously defeated the British in 1879. Charge up before you leave the bigger towns, chargers are scarce out here.
