Mucklestone is a small Staffordshire village on the A53 between Market Drayton and Newcastle-under-Lyme, right on the Shropshire border. It's a convenient stop for drivers crossing between counties, with good M6 connections via Junction 15. The surrounding countryside features typical border region farmland and gentle hills. St. Bertram's Church houses remarkable 14th-century wall paintings of St. Margaret of Antioch.
