Methilhill forms part of Fife's former coalfield, positioned between the Forth coast and inland towns like Glenrothes. Reach it via the A915 from Kirkcaldy or the B932 from Glenrothes for local journeys, whilst the A92 serves longer routes from Edinburgh or Dundee.
