Merweville is a proper Karoo dorpie, tucked off the R353 between Leeu-Gamka and Prince Albert Road, about 84 km and 89 km respectively from those turn-offs off the N1. It is a long haul from anywhere, so most who bundu-bash out here are tourists doing the Karoo route rather than locals popping in. Bring extra fuel and don't expect EV charging. The big drawcard is the town's untouched 1800s streetscape, sandstone houses and clear night skies made for stargazing.
