Lower Thurnham is a small Lancashire village on the A588 between Lancaster and Glasson Dock. Most visitors take Junction 33 from the M6, then follow the A6 north before connecting to local roads. The village sits on flat agricultural land near the River Lune, serving mainly residential and farming communities. The village's claim to fame is its proximity to historic Glasson Dock, where the Lancaster Canal meets the Lune Estuary.
