Lochailort marks the junction of the A830 and A861 in the West Highlands, where Loch Ailort meets dramatic mountain scenery. Most visitors arrive via the scenic A830 Road to the Isles from Fort William, continuing to Mallaig or branching south toward Ardnamurchan. The village has about 3 EV charging points and sits directly beside the famous West Highland railway line, with twice-daily services between Glasgow and Mallaig stopping at the small station.
