Les Escoumins sits on the north shore of the St. Lawrence, reached mainly via Route 138, which links it to Tadoussac, Forestville, and Baie-Comeau along the shoreline. Folks heading up from Quebec City usually take Route 138 through Charlevoix, though Route 175 via Saguenay is a quicker inland alternative. A ferry crosses the river to Trois-Pistoles, handy for skipping the long drive around. Circuit électrique charging stations are available in town. The real draw here is the diving: Les Escoumins is considered the top cold water dive site in eastern North America, with a rocky shelf just offshore where you can spot wolffish and even giant Pacific octopus.
