About Larne

Larne is County Antrim's main ferry port to Scotland, with P&O crossings to Cairnryan taking about two hours. The town sits where Larne Lough meets the North Channel, 36 kilometers north of Belfast via the A8. It's the starting point for the famous Antrim Coast Road that winds north past dramatic cliffs toward the Giant's Causeway. The restored Gobbins Cliff Path just south of town offers an extraordinary Edwardian walkway carved into basalt cliffs, complete with bridges and tunnels that reopened after being closed for decades.
