Lakesite, TN

Lakesite is a small lakefront town about 15 miles north of Chattanooga, accessible via US Highway 27 from downtown Chattanooga in about 20 minutes. Interstate 75 travelers exit at Highway 27 (Exit 7) and head west. The community of 2,200 sits on Chickamauga Lake and serves as a gateway for boaters on the Tennessee River system. The town still operates one of Tennessee's few remaining cable ferries, which has crossed the lake since 1930.
