Kranskop

South African English DESCRIPTION Kranskop, up in the KZN midlands, hangs right on the edge of the Tugela River gorge, so the view alone is worth the detour. You'll get there via the R74, with Greytown just 36 km down the road for your daily run-ins. Joburg folk coming down usually hit the N3 via Mooi River or Estcourt first, about 500 km all in. Charging stations are thin on the ground out here, so juice up in Greytown before pushing on. The lookout over the gorge is the real reason people stop.
