3About Kilnaboy
Kilnaboy is a small village in County Clare, about 15 kilometres northeast of Ennis on the R476 through Corofin. It sits in the heart of the limestone karst country with its seasonal turloughs that fill and empty throughout the year. The area serves as a good base for exploring the Burren, with plenty of walking trails and archaeological sites scattered about the limestone terrain. The village is famous for its 12th-century church ruin featuring one of Ireland's finest sheela-na-gig carvings above the doorway, a mysterious medieval stone figure that draws visitors from across the country.
