Icehouse Canyon, AZ

Icehouse Canyon is a tiny desert community in eastern Arizona's Gila County with just 528 residents. Most visitors drive about two hours east from Phoenix via US-60 through Globe, then take local roads into the canyon country near the San Carlos Apache Reservation. The area sits in Arizona's high desert transition zone where Sonoran Desert meets pine forests. The town gets its name from a natural ice cave in the canyon walls that early settlers used for refrigeration.
