Halkirk

Halkirk lies in eastern Caithness along the A99, serving as a useful junction between Wick and Thurso. The A882 heads south from here toward the central Highlands via Lairg, whilst the A99 continues to Wick Airport about 15 kilometers east. Most journeys are short local hops, though the southern route offers proper Highland scenery across remote moorland. The town sits where several burns meet the Thurso River, crossed by an 1840 stone bridge that still carries today's traffic.
