Grimbister

Grimbister lies on Mainland Orkney along the A965, about 10 kilometres west of Kirkwall and convenient for exploring the island's western parishes. The area sits amid typical Orcadian farmland with stone-walled fields and distant sea views. Most visitors arrive via Kirkwall Airport, 8 kilometres away, or take the A965 from either Kirkwall or Stromness. The settlement is notable for the nearby Cuween Hill Cairn, a 4,000-year-old Neolithic burial chamber accessible by footpath.
