Granard

Granard sits where the N55 meets the R194 in north Longford, about 25km from Longford city and well-placed for reaching Cavan, Mullingar, or Dublin via the N4. The town's at the meeting point of the Shannon and Erne watersheds, giving you decent connections northwest to Sligo or southeast toward Portlaoise. There's grand EV charging sorted with about 9 fast chargers in the area. The real draw is the massive Norman motte castle that towers over the main street, one of the finest examples you'll find, with cracking views right across the flat midlands from the top.
