Glenshee Village lies in the Cairngorms at the junction of the A93 and Glen Clova routes, serving as Scotland's main ski resort base. The A93 from Perth climbs through increasingly wild Highland scenery, whilst the mountain route from Aberdeen crosses the Cairn Gorm Pass. Winter conditions regularly close these high passes. The village sits beneath 21 ski runs stretching up Meall Odhar to 1,100 metres, forming Scotland's largest ski area.
