Foss Islands
England
Foss Islands lies just east of York city centre, across the River Foss from the historic core. This former industrial quarter has been redeveloped into housing and retail, connected via Lawrence Street and the A1036 Foss Islands Road. The A64 provides quick access to Leeds westbound or Scarborough eastbound, whilst the A19 heads north toward Teesside. With over 70 EV charging points nearby and York's medieval attractions on the doorstep, it's well-placed for both local trips and longer Yorkshire explorations. The old Rowntree's factory chimney still towers over the neighbourhood, a reminder of York's chocolate-making heritage.
