Forden is a small Powys village near the English border, positioned in the upper Severn valley. The A490 provides the main connection, running north to Welshpool and the A483, or south toward Newtown. Most long-distance traffic uses this route to reach the A483 and M54 corridor. Around 18 fast EV chargers serve the area, mainly in Welshpool. The village sits close to Offa's Dyke, the 8th-century earthwork boundary between Wales and Mercia.
