Fochville

Fochville lies on the West Rand, a proper gold mining dorpie surrounded by maize lands and old mine dumps. Get there via the R500 through Carletonville, linking to the R501 and N12 from Joburg side. Short hops to Kokosi, Carletonville, and Glenharvie are everyday runs for locals, while longer drives to Dullstroom or Frankfort are more for visitors passing through. The old mine headgear still standing is a proper throwback to the town's gold rush days, named after French Marshal Ferdinand Foch.
