Most visitors arrive via Interstate 10, either from Phoenix (north) or Tucson (south), then take Highway 79. The town sits in classic Sonoran Desert country with saguaro cacti and mountain views. Florence is home to Arizona State Prison Complex, one of the state's oldest correctional facilities dating to 1908.
