Finnea is a quiet lakeside village in County Longford where three counties meet at Lough Sheelin's shores. The R194 connects it to the N4 Dublin-Sligo route 15 kilometers south, making it about 90 minutes from Dublin via Edgeworthstown or Granard. You can also reach it from Cavan town on the R198 or from Mullingar through Castlepollard. The village hosts the World Bog Snorkeling Championships each July, where mad competitors race through water-filled peat bog trenches wearing snorkels and flippers.
