Fairmont, NC

Fairmont is a small town of about 2,500 people in south-central North Carolina's tobacco country, reached via US 301 from Lumberton or I-95. The town sits in rolling Coastal Plain farmland with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Most visitors arrive from I-95 via the Lumberton exit, then drive northeast on US 301 for 20 minutes. A restored 1920s movie theater downtown still shows weekend films as one of the state's last operating single-screen rural cinemas.
