Ellister

Ellister perches on Islay's wild Atlantic edge, reached via ferry from Kennacraig then the A846 and A847 across the island. Local roads link nearby Port Charlotte (7km) and Portnahaven (4km), whilst Islay Airport offers convenient flights from Glasgow. The settlement overlooks waters where the passenger steamer Otranto was tragically wrecked in 1918.
