Dufton is a small Cumbrian village in the Eden Valley, positioned between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District with Cross Fell looming to the west. Reach it via the A66 from Penrith then minor roads through Knock, or from the A685 via Appleby-in-Westmorland. The village green marks the start of the Pennine Way, Britain's first National Trail stretching 268 miles to Scotland.
